Our club continues to strive for sustainability and growth in community contribution. Our projects over the years have focused on giving back and making our footprint on this world a little smaller with our Recycled Water Plant, Going Green Initiative and 501c3 Foundation.
A small group of twenty “would be” golfers met in Redwood City to consider the possibilities of creating a private golf course somewhere near the mid-peninsula. At about this time, a developer was attempting to develop the land in the vicinity of Sharon Heights. The City of Menlo Park deemed the land not fully acceptable for development unless individual homes were separated by green space from planned condominiums and office structures. A golf course would be an ideal solution to the problem and so Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club (SHGCC) was born.
